COVID-19 Impact on the 2020 Summer Scholarships

The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic will go down in history as a once in a lifetime event that deeply changed the way of life in Howard County, Maryland and the rest of the nation.  Our children, especially those in income-constrained families, are feeling the brunt of this crisis as their families struggle to maintain employment, housing and food.

The mission of the Hussein Scholarship program is to reach out to middle-school boys impacted by this crisis. We will be directing 2020 Awards to students determined to be most in need based on family income, language other than English and recommendations by schools.
