2023 Philanthropist of the Year Award

Dr. Carlessia Hussein and the Scholarship Fund program was recognized as a top Philanthropy of 2023 at the Annual Award Dinner of the Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHoCo) on December 5, 2023.

Over the past 8 years, a total of 300 Summer Enrichment Awards have been given to Middle School Boys of Color whose families meet the following criteria:

• Attend one of Howard County's 20 Public Middle schools.

• Families are in poverty and or meet MD ALICE criteria of employed but earning insufficient funds for the area's cost of living.
