2022 Report to Donors - Scholarships Awarded to 39 Recipients
For summer 2022, the Dr. Carlessia Hussein Scholarship Fund, in support from the Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHoCo), awarded 39 middle school boys in Howard County Public School System with 2022 Dr. Carlessia Hussein Minority Scholarships.
A total of $12,675 will be distributed on behalf of the selected recipients. The scholarships will provide the children access to summer enrichment programs that encourage leadership, academic achievement, character development, expand problem‐solving skills and engender a sense of community. From 2016 to date, a total of 233 middle school boys have received scholarships.
We thank the many private donors, County School officials, staff, elected officials, organizations, businesses, friends and volunteers who helped launch this program in 2016 and keep it going strong for 7 years with awards given each year, 2016 - 2022. A special thanks to the Community Foundation of Howard County for its management and sponsorship.
